Does the Job

The App is very accurate with its monitoring. It's the only system I could find that does 4 batteries on the one app.

Great Battery Monitor

Very easy to fit and a practical addition to my 4wd. I thought one of my two batteries was failing and this proved it correct.

Great live information

Have a device on each battery and was able to fault find. A must have and a very reasonable price. Would buy again

Frequently Asked Questions

A battery shunt is a low-resistance tool for measuring the current entering and leaving a battery. It functions by producing a little voltage drop across the shunt, which a battery monitor then measures. Providing precise battery performance data and assisting you in tracking the condition and charge levels of your battery, the shunt is a crucial part of many battery monitoring systems.
A 12V shunt is a particular kind of battery shunt made to work with 12-volt battery systems, which are frequently used in Australian automobiles. It makes it possible to measure the current passing through the battery precisely, providing reliable information for tracking and controlling the cycle of charge and discharge of your 12V battery.
A battery shunt plays a critical role in monitoring the current of your battery system. It provides a precise way to measure the flow of electricity in and out of your battery. By creating a small voltage drop across its terminals, the shunt allows your battery monitor to calculate the battery’s state of charge, health, and overall performance.
A battery monitor is used to monitor the health of your vehicle’s battery, check vehicle cranking system automatically while engine is starting and check battery charging system (alternator). Your driving log can be viewed which includes driving time and duration. The Oricom BSM888X allows your driving log to be viewed which includes driving time and duration. Using wireless communication, you can now monitor your battery via your smartphone too. The Battery Monitor will send you a notification when you approach your vehicle and will help to prevent vehicle breakdowns and maximise the performance of your battery by giving you valuable information about the state of your battery. This product is designed to be used on standard flooded type lead acid batteries. It may give incorrect information on other types of battery.

Connect the Battery Monitor to a vehicle battery. Connect positive terminal to positive pole, negative terminal to negative pole or to a suitable vehicle earth point. Attach the product to the battery with the tape provided or through other installation method. Clean the area first and make sure it in a position that the signal is not blocked. Final step is to install the Oricom Auto App.

Warning: Make sure that if using a metal tool, not to short the battery terminals or touch the vehicle chassis while fixing the terminals.
A shunt battery monitor is a system that uses a battery shunt to measure the current flowing into and out of the battery. The shunt sends this information to the monitor, which uses it to determine the state of charge and health of the battery. This type of monitor is highly accurate and can give you a detailed overview of your battery’s performance, making it a vital tool for ensuring the longevity of your battery, especially in applications like RVs, off-grid solar systems, or 4WDs.
Yes, a shunt is an essential part of many battery monitoring systems. It enables accurate measurement of the current flowing into and out of the battery, which is crucial for determining the battery’s state of charge and health. While some simpler battery monitors may rely on voltage alone, a shunt battery monitor provides far more accuracy and is often required for systems that need detailed information about battery performance, especially in larger or more complex setups.

Be careful not to disconnect the battery from the vehicle while installing this product, as you may lose some or all of your vehicle security settings.

Every time you start the engine, the Oricom battery monitor will test the cranking system automatically and store the test result. If the cranking voltage is below 7.5V, it means abnormality has been detected. For a 24V system, voltage under 15V will be abnormal. It might be time to replace the battery. Have your vehicle’s battery checked.
