For those with poor mobility there is no need to rush to the phone to answer it.Simply press the speakerphone button on the pendant to answer the phone and talk hands free.
The phone contains an inbuilt inductive coupler which offers Hearing Aid users clearer sound. Simply switch your hearing aid to the “T” setting to use this function.
Talking caller ID* announces the caller’s name or number loudly and clearly so the users can identify the caller before they take the call.

Q. Is the pendent water proof?
A. The pendant is compliant to IP57 which means it is resistant to dust and strong jets of water such as from a shower or garden hose. The pendent should not be immersed below water
Q. Can I have more than 1 pendant?
A. Yes multiple pendants can be added to the phone, these can be purchased from Oricom.
Q. Are there any ongoing costs?
A. The CARE170 is not a monitored system so there are no additional running costs once you have purchased the product.
Q. I hear a lot of interference on my telephone when making or receiving calls, what is wrong?
A. If you have ADSL or ADSL2+ ensure you have suitable line filters installed on every device connected to the phone line. You should also ensure that the handset and base are located away from other electronic devices such as computers, televisions, microwave ovens and fridges.
Q. The red light is constantly flashing, how do I stop it.
A. This indicates you have new messages on your voicemail service or new calls in your calls list. Check for messages on your Home Messages 101 or Messagbank service and / or view the calls in you calls list.
Q. When I press the button on my pendant it does not work.
A. When you press the button on the pendant check that the red light on the pendant comes on. If it does not the battery in the pendant may require changing. Change the battery.
Q. What is the range of the pendant?
A. The pendant has a range of up to 30 meters. The actual range will depend on the construction and materials in your home .
Q. I cannot hear the phone announce the numbers when I press them?
A. Check that the Voice Prompt feature is turned on in the main menu and that the volume is turned up.
Q. Can I change the recorded message for the emergency function?
A. Yes you can but you need to include in your message that the person should press 0 to accept the call.
Q. Can I put 000 as a contact person?
A. It is not recommended that the 000 number be entered as a main contact person.
Q. Can the contacts programmed into the M1 and M2 buttons be used as emergency numbers?
A. The M1 and M2 buttons are quick dial buttons for frequently used numbers. If you also wish these contacts to be in your emergency contact list, they must also be entered into the phonebook.
